Offending the un-offendable

Over the last few days, I've heard a little about the Westboro Baptist Church.

I won't tell you all about what they do, it's all found on Wikipedia.

But basically, I've developed a hatred for these people.

I'd love to be able to do something in the fight against them, and invite suggestions on how to do so through the comments link below.

These people are sick, sick individuals, who have no idea on the true morals of religion.

I'm not a religious person myself (I'd class myself under "atheist") but their comments and views about God offend me.

If what they claim to believe is truly what they believe, then displaying these views at the funerals of soldiers is entirely deplorable.

I'm sickened, sad nearly to the point of tears, and in need of a pick-up after that...

Get yourself a huge crying towel ... and then go kill yourself. It would be a much better strategy than lifting up your hand to do evil against the Prophets of God! Read what Christ said about how to handle the offending body part ... and you'll get the picture. (Matthew 18:7-10).

Or here's a better plan: Fear God! Keep His Commandments! For the hour of his judgment draws near.

Either way, however, you'll sooner stop the Earth in her axis than stop a single word of God! And about that whole "athiest" thing (get over yourself, clown) ... how about you just stop believing in gravity and perhaps you can take off and fly!

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Magormissabib!

I don't care who you are - that is funny!

I was tempted initially to delete the first comment that's been left here, but decided to leave it. Hey, if I can have my opinion, so can everyone else.

The difference with mine is that I don't wish death upon those who disagree with me. That's such a lame argument. Live and let live.

"Keep His Commandments" you say... isn't one of them to love thy neighbour? Where in his commandments does it tell me to denounce homosexuality?

Why does choosing to be an atheist make me a clown? It's no more a clown-like choice, than the one you have made to believe in religion. We're all entitled to a free choice.

Gravity isn't something to choose to believe in or not. It's there, and it holds me to the Earth. Simple. And pretty obvious. The presence of a god has never been made obvious to me, hence my atheism.

My main disagreement isn't with the views of WBC, it's with the way they're put across. It's offensive, and not needed at all.

Like I said before:

Live, and let live.

gotta agree with you "r". having watched the programme about the WBC if anything they show a complete ignorance about the bible. i believe in God and read the bible. Jesus healed people regardless of creed, colour or wealth.

they truly belive that they (the 70 parishoners of their Church) are the only people who truly follow the bible and so anyone who doesn't follow "their way" (and by their way i mean hating homosexuals, boycotting dead soldiers funerals, and saying that 9/11 was God's righteous punishment on sinful America) should be killed. So "Magormissabib" if you're not one of the 70, good luck to you but try not to judge others (Matthew 7:1). If you are, then all i say is "God bless you".
